An exciting Olympic few weeks!

Over the past couple of weeks the children really been getting in to the Olympic spirit. Our weekly Olympic theme has been encouraging the children to get along with each and develop a range of life long skills. Chidlren has been trying new sports such a rowing by visiting our partner secondary sports. We have also had Highly Sprung Dance company in this week working with children across the school on an Olympic themed dance. A selection of children from key stage two will be performing this dance at the Games opening at the Ricoh Arena. This afternoon the whole school took part in the dance outside on the Key Stage One play ground. Well done children, we are very proud of all your hard work!

Coventry Telegraph Schools Awards 2012

We are very proud to say that this week we have won the Art and Design Award at the Coventry Telegraph Schools Awards 2012. A group of children in Year 6 has been involved with part of the design for the school extension:

“The children at Keresley Grange are proud to have worked on a project about the design of the landscaping at the front of their new extension. They wanted to design something to welcome parents both old and new to the school, taking account of possible themes such as: The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Olympic Values and Community Cohesion”

A big thank you to Mrs Quinney, our School Business Manager, who has worked alongside the Designers and the children. Well Done Children!!!

The children in year 6 also came runners up in the Class of the Year award. Well done one and all!

Having reviewed the situation regarding the end of the school day over the past half term, we have decided that with effect from the Monday following half term, 20^th February 2012, we will revert back to our normal school day, ie all children must be collected at 3.30pm and gates will not be opened until that time.

Year 6 at Plas Dol y Moch

Our Year 6 children have been at Plas Dol y Moch this week in Wales. They have had a wonderful time and we are very proud of things challenges they have over come! The children have been blogging while they have been away. You can read their blog HERE.
